Wedding Services
We believe that we ARE the right Officiant/Celebrant for most couples. Each officiant has a style, personality and presentation formulated over the years of positive wedding experiences. We are the warm, calm, and intimate type of Officiants. We are not your traditional reading from a book type of Officiants, although we can present a very traditional ceremony if that is your choice!
We love when your ceremony is all about you, your love, your commitment, the connection you have to your ‘tribe’ or ‘clan’ of family and friends and of course, to each other. We want to tell your story from beginning when we welcome your guests, telling them how much they mean to you…..and ending with a blessing and pronouncement that sets the tone for the rest of your day!
As experienced Marriage Commissioners, we have officiated weddings in almost every venue in the Coastal Virginia area. As Interfaith ministers, we also perform ceremonies inside and outside the walls of a Church or chapel and we can direct you to many who allow you to select us to officiate. We do not require counseling to prepare you for married life, as many of you have had long term relationships and already know what it takes to survive the pitfalls of life together. But, if you think you would benefit from counseling, we recommend you self-council together, using the book, “DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF IN LOVE”.
Your ceremony ideas are endless, and we have guides to help you take your ideas into fruition in your unique wedding ceremony. Want to write your own vows? We share a large file of vows that have been written by couples just like you, but minus any personal details of course. Don’t settle for an Officiant that won’t let you show your creativity and style in your ceremony.
We serve couples of all faiths, beliefs and even non-beliefs without judgment or our own religious agenda. Whether you want your ceremony to be Civil, Spiritual, Traditional or Christian; we can help.
Most of the couples we meet with have no idea what questions to ask us, what a competent and great Officiant looks like, or even how to express what they want in their ceremony. This is a process and from our first meeting to the final ceremony script, we work with you, holding your hand if necessary until you are 100% as excited about the ceremony, as you are what comes after!
We provide very easy step by step instructions and ideas in our electronic “How to Create Your Custom Ceremony” files. You will choose every word of your ceremony and we have made it very easy to do. We do not require you to stick to our ideas or selections, you have total literary license with your ceremony. As we serve you on your very special day, you can be assured we are totally professional, personable, experienced and will respect your Faith or even Non-Beliefs without judgment.

We do not offer this custom ceremony service with elopements because we try to make this a much less expensive option. We do allow you to select religious/non-religious and ring exchange or no rings. We also allow you to write your own vows and if the wedding is on the beach, we do help you create a memorable keepsake through a special sand ceremony of our own creation. You will not be disappointed!

Family Blending Ceremony Honors
the Children & the new family
FAMILY BLENDING ELEMENTS
Often we think of marriage as the joining of two people. In reality, many times marriage is much broader. It is also the coming together and merging of families and friends. This is even more apparent when the engages couple have children. With children present the wedding ceremony also becomes the proclaiming of a new family. We will work with you to create a Family Blending element in your ceremony so that every member of the new family feels important and included on this wonderful day! The blending element can be as simple as joining sand or speaking special vows to the children. Sometimes it is more lighthearted with the creation of a blended 'ice cream sundae' or joining M&M's instead of sand! We are very creative and flexible. We have a NEW option, a family hand fasting! Each member of the family has a special color cord and they are all placed over the couple's hands and tied in a knot that forms an infinity symbol! This comes with beautiful words about the importance of every member of the new family.
A Family Sand Ceremony can be so special.
In this one, the grown children added large seashells as a symbol of their support. Guests added small seashells to symbolize their best wishes.
