Many couples have always dreamed of a beautiful wedding on the beach with the sun setting in the background, the sounds of the waves pounding the sand, and the intimacy of the moment together. This is what elopement is all about....sometimes with a few intimate friends or family members.
We are surrounded by water in Hampton Roads and we can help you find the perfect spot for your ceremony. VIRGINIA BEACH OCEANFRONT ELOPEMENTS These are the more accessible areas for elopement ceremonies, although parking is always challenging in tourist season. 2nd Street and Atlantic 81st Street and Atlantic/Pacific First Landing State Park on Shore Drive. (minimal fee for entry) First Landing State Park on 64th Street and Pacific. (minimal fee for entry) Sandbridge public Beach or the "Little Island" area (Fees for parking) All of the oceanfront hotels have some access to the beach and if you are staying in one, we can meet you in the lobby, walk to the beach and have a beautiful ceremony. Afterwards, I will snap a few photos with your camera/cell phone so you will have those important shots, or there are many professional photographers who would be happy to do this for you. You do not need a permit to be married on the beach at Virginia Beach unless you are having a large number of guests, chairs set up, and want a reserved spot. And you cannot ask people on the beach to move! ELOPEMENTS TO OTHER AREAS ON THE WATER If you would like to be married on the water but want to avoid all the traffic at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, we would suggest these locations: Ocean View Beach, Norfolk, Virginia (On the Chesapeake Bay) Buckroe Beach, Hampton, Virginia (On the Chesapeake Bay) Huntington Beach or Mariners Museum Beach, Newport News, Virginia (on the James River) Yorktown Beach on the York River (Requires a permit from Parks & Rec Dept) There are also many parks that are waterfront. See the list at the end of the following venues. |
