Formal Wedding or Vow Renewal Terms
I, Susan Turner agree to: Provide services selected by the Couple to officiate the ceremony at the time and place agreed upon and listed on the signed agreement at the price quoted by Susan Turner. Officiant also agrees to provide all files and expertise to help with the ceremony creation.
The couple agrees to: work with the officiant to create a custom ceremony, final draft which must be to officiant at least 72 hours before the ceremony is to be held.
MARRIAGE LICENSE:
Client understands that it is their responsibility to acquire a valid marriage license in the state where the wedding ceremony will take place and the marriage license must be on the premises when the ceremony is performed. Client understands that failure to have these legal documents means that the wedding officiant cannot legally perform the ceremony and is under no obligation to do so. The officiant may at her discretion perform a symbolic ceremony, which will have no legal merit, and perform another ceremony in private for the couple once the legal documents are presented, for an additional fee. Client will consult with the local court or city clerk to find the exact requirements for the client's area.
If the event is a vow renewal, the marriage license is not required.
CANCELLATION and REFUND:
The signed agreement of the officiant to perform the ceremony is subject to proven detention by accidents, riots, strikes, epidemics, acts of God, or any other legitimate conditions beyond their control. If such circumstances arise, all reasonable efforts will be made by the officiant to find a replacement. Should the officiant be unable to secure a replacement to perform the ceremony, client shall receive a full refund. Client agrees that in all circumstances, officiant liability shall be exclusively limited to an amount equal to the performance fee and that officiant shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from any breach of contract.
All schedule retainers are nonrefundable if the event is cancelled by the client.
Any changes to the date, time or venue made after the Agreement is signed may incur additional expenses AND MUST BE REQUESTED AND APPROVED IN WRITING. If Officiant is unable to officiate due to these changes, schedule retainer is not refundable.
If selecting a special feature, the client is responsible for furnishing all equipment needed unless listed as being provided by the Officiant in the signed agreement.
Officiant agrees to arrive at the wedding location listed on the signed agreement at the agreed time, usually 30 minutes early. Client understands that they must adhere to these times but officiant does understand weddings do not always go as planned and will accommodate for weddings that start later than scheduled, as time permits. Officiant will allow for a 1.5 hour block of time per wedding to give plenty of time for unexpected delays. This includes Officiant's 30 minute early arrival.
After the 90 minutes allowed, the Couple agrees to pay an additional fee of $75 per every 30 minutes thereafter the wedding ceremony starts late and this will be prorated to the quarter hour. Promptness is very important. (No penalty if lateness is caused by unavoidable delay of the Officiates arrival). This charge is at the discretion of the Officiant and may not be charged with some reasonable extenuating circumstances.
In the event your wedding’s late start is encroaching on another commitment to a wedding start time, regrettably the Officiant may have to leave without performing your ceremony without refund or recourse. (Up to this point, I have NEVER had to leave a wedding without performing the ceremony)
The Couple shall pay the Officiant a schedule retainer which shall be deducted from the Officiant fee quoted. The balance will be due and payable at the rehearsal, or if Officiant will not be attending the rehearsal, it is due at the wedding before it begins or before. Officiant accepts Cash or CashApp ID: $weddingbysusan.
If requested, we will participate in the Wedding Rehearsal which includes instructing a person of your choice to be your ‘day of’ manager. This is available at an additional reasonable fee. Please note, rehearsals must be scheduled around my wedding schedule as weddings take precedence over rehearsals.
Elopement Wedding Terms
I, Susan Turner agree to: Provide elopement services when selected by the Couple to officiate the ceremony at the time and place agreed upon and will be verbally quoted at time of making the appointment. Officiant agrees to arrive at the wedding location at the agreed upon time. Form of payment will be cash before the ceremony is conducted.
MARRIAGE LICENSE:

Client will consult with the local court or city clerk to find the exact requirements for their area.
